How an apprenticeship works
Whether you're an employer or an apprentice, we'll support you every step of the way with a clear, four-stage apprenticeship journey.

Stage 1: Induction and onboarding

Every apprenticeship begins with a comprehensive induction. We onboard both the apprentice and their line manager, ensuring everyone understands the programme requirements, sets initial expectations, and gains full access to our digital learning systems.

Stage 2: Workplace learning and development

This expert-led training blends theory and practice through:

  • monthly online workshops
  • 1-to-1 coaching
  • 24/7 access to Digital Campus resources, which include session recordings, interactive e-learning and supplementary learning materials.

To ensure continuous growth, apprentices, managers, and trainers meet every 10–12 weeks for tripartite reviews to evaluate progress, review portfolios, and set SMART targets.

Stage 3: Pre-assessment review

Once all training hours are completed and the portfolio is finalised, the apprentice, employer, and Lift Schools trainer meet to review progress against the apprentice standard. Together, they confirm the apprentice is fully prepared and confident before signing them off for their assessment.

Stage 4: Apprenticeship assessment

The journey ends with the Apprenticeship Assessment. Delivered by an independent assessment organisation, this final stage lets apprentices showcase the skills, knowledge, and behaviours gained throughout their programme to earn their accredited qualification.

We’ll make sure you’re fully prepared every step of the way.
