Students across Lift Schools are celebrating their GCSE and Level 2 results, marked by trust-wide improvement over the last year and fantastic individual performances.
Importantly, the trust has also narrowed the attainment gap for both disadvantaged students and students with SEND, reflecting a continued focus on delivering an excellent education for every child, in every classroom, every day.

A number of schools have seen significant improvements this year, including Lift Kingswood in Hull, Lift Sir Herbert Leon in Milton Keynes and Lift Greenwood in Birmingham.
Lift Bexleyheath, in Bexleyheath, and Lift Broadlands, in Keynsham, are also celebrating their best GCSE results to date, reflecting the hard work of students and staff over a number of years.
Among those celebrating some outstanding individual achievements are:

Alongside these brilliant achievements lie remarkable individual journeys of perseverance, progress, and personal success.
Amy Li, a student at Lift Aylward, moved to England less than two years ago and overcame a complete language barrier to achieve eight GCSEs, including one grade 9 and two grade 8s. Amy will return to Lift Aylward to study A-levels and is determined to achieve an A in maths.

Yusuif Ahmed, a student at Lift Four Dwellings Secondary in Birmingham, secured a place at Eton College through the Orwell Award, a sixth form scholarship programme, where he will study maths, geography, physics and economics. The 16 year old, whose family is originally from Sudan, called the scholarship a “big honour” for his family and country, adding that he hopes it shows how education can change lives and make anything possible.

After earning a strong set of GCSEs (two 7s, four 6s, and two 5s), Lift Broadlands student Ben Hillier will join the Royal Navy in September as a fast-tracked marine engineer submariner. His training will cover nuclear engineering alongside practical skills in metalwork, woodwork, electrical work, and plumbing.
Becks Boomer-Clark, Lift Schools CEO, said: “Today is first and foremost about celebrating our students and everything they have achieved. It’s very encouraging to see our results having improved on last year, with a number of schools making significant strides and two achieving their strongest results to date.
“I am particularly pleased that we have narrowed the attainment gap for disadvantaged students and those with SEND. We want every young person, whatever their background or individual needs, to have the opportunity to do well and leave school ready for the next stage of their life.
“Behind these results are thousands of individual young people, each with their own story and their own ambitions for what comes next. I am incredibly proud of the determination they have shown, and grateful to the teachers and staff who have supported them throughout their time with us.
“What matters now is that every young person is supported to take the next step that is right for them, whether that is A-levels, a technical or vocational qualification, an apprenticeship or another route. There are many different ways for young people to succeed, and we want every student leaving our schools to do so with the confidence and support to pursue their ambitions.”

Rubeka Luthfa, Principal at Lift Bexleyheath, said: “These are the best results in the history of our school, and they are a testament to the determination of our students, the dedication of our staff and the support of our families.”
Laura Stone, Principal at Lift Broadlands, said: “I am extremely proud of the well-deserved achievements of the class of 2026. These exam results represent the school’s best GCSE outcomes since the Covid-19 pandemic.”
Richard Westoby, Principal at Lift Kingswood, said: We are incredibly proud of each and every one of them! They leave us today ready to go on and fulfil their dreams and live happy and successful lives and I look forward to seeing them go onto the highest performing and most well-respected colleges, universities and world-class employers."
