Lift Montgomery has officially opened its new nursery facilities, with a celebration attended by the local MP.
The new nursery space, which opened in September, now offers 10 new full-time places for two-year-olds, marking a major boost to early years education for local families in Sparkbrook, Birmingham.
The school held an official opening last week, with families, staff, and special guest Tahir Ali, MP for Birmingham Hall Green and Moseley, in attendance.
It was created by converting an existing area within the school, and it is a substantial addition to the academy's existing 26 term-time places for three and four-year-olds.
The project was made possible by a government grant allowing the school to invest in a dedicated, high-quality environment for younger children. As part of the same scheme, Lift Trinity, Lift Hamford, and Lift Shafton will also receive new or improved nursery facilities.
Lift Montgomery is already known for its commitment to exceptional early education, a fact reflected in its 'Outstanding' judgement by Ofsted in all areas last November. The new nursery places further extend this commitment, ensuring children benefit from the highest standards of teaching and care.
The nursery is led by qualified staff and overseen by the school leaders, who are experts in early years education. The new facilities are designed to encourage play, learning, and exploration, and include:
Fozia Nisar, Head of School at Lift Montgomery, said:
“I am absolutely delighted and proud to have welcomed our youngest learners to our preschool! Seeing our vibrant, caring, and inspiring environment come alive with curious minds, laughter, and boundless energy is a joy beyond words.
“A heartfelt thank you to Tahir Ali MP for joining us to mark this special occasion. Your support means so much to our children, families, and staff. Here’s to a year of discovery, growth, and unforgettable early learning experiences!”
Nabila Jiwa, Regional Education Director, added:
“We are delighted that we have been able to extend our nursery for two year olds and it has been a brilliant start to the term. This investment really benefits local children who will be able to enjoy a fantastic early years experience at preschool. We are excited for this next chapter for the school and the community.”
