Thank you so much for your interest in the role of Trustee at Lift Schools.
Lift Schools is the fifth largest multi-academy trust in the country. We are currently a network of 58 schools, a mix of primary, secondary and special schools. Whilst spread geographically across the country, all of our schools are united by a common mission - that an excellent education is an entitlement for every child and that we want every child in each of our schools to achieve their full potential.
Our Board plays a significant role in supporting the executive and the wider Lift Schools team to achieve its hugely ambitious goals as we navigate the challenges and opportunities within the ever-evolving education landscape.

We are seeking to recruit two Trustees to the board of Lift Schools as follows:
We are seeking a Trustee with recent, significant education experience who can contribute strong strategic insight and informed challenge. As a member of the Education and Safeguarding Committee as well as a member of the Board, you will help scrutinise the trust’s educational strategy, using your understanding of teaching, learning, curriculum, and school improvement to evaluate impact and identify risk across the trust. You will support the Board in holding executive leaders to account for standards, inclusion, safeguarding, SEND, and pupil outcomes, ensuring that educational priorities are aligned with long-term sustainability, leadership capacity, and equitable outcomes for all pupils.

We are seeking a Trustee with significant HR and organisational transformation experience who can strengthen the Board’s oversight of the trust’s people, culture, and change strategies. Working strategically, you will support the board in holding executive leaders to account for building a resilient, values-led, and high-performing organisation, ensuring that the people strategy, change programmes, and risk management are aligned with the trust’s long-term vision and growth ambitions.

Co-opted Member, Audit and Risk Committee:
We are seeking to appoint a highly skilled co-opted member to our Audit and Risk Committee, with senior-level experience in finance and audit/assurance, to enhance independent oversight, governance assurance, and strategic risk management across the trust.
Whilst the successful candidate will not be trustee of Lift Schools, this appointment is a critical part of the trust’s commitment to robust financial stewardship, effective internal control, and strategic assurance as the organisation grows and operates within an increasingly complex regulatory and operational environment. The successful candidate will bring significant professional credibility, external perspective, and informed challenge, supporting the Committee in maintaining strong accountability, anticipating and managing risk, and ensuring assurance arrangements that underpin educational excellence, organisational resilience, and long-term sustainability.
The Audit and Risk Committee meets four times during the year: twice in the autumn term, once in the spring term and once in the summer term.
Meetings are a mix of online and face to face, the latter held at our EdCity offices in White City, West London.
